My  Prayer

I once had a dream that I prayed would not come true

I find myself praying more now that I know you

You dazzle me with your eyes and your sweet smile too

Your feelings, your thoughts, your touch; it's all so new

I am not used to the way that you make me feel

My feelings for you are genuine and quite real

You are so beautiful from your head to your heel

You are precious to me and you mean a great deal

I will do what you ask of me to make this last

I will give you my while and hope you do not cast

You have a quantity of traits that are amassed

You are an excellent person beyond contrast

I know that you feel that you must push me away

I will be persistent so that I do not stray

Your trust in me is sacred; I will not betray

You can prove my dream to be wrong and this I pray
