Predicate Adjectives
Predicate adjectives are adjectives that complement the subject and are connected to the subject through a linking verb (like the predicate nouns of the last set of diagrams). In the sentence, "I am awesome," the subject is "I", the linking verb is "am" and the subject complement, or thing that explains that subject is "awesome"--"I" and "awesome" are the same thing. Because the word "awesome" is an adjective, meaning it's a word that describes a noun or a pronoun, and because it follows a linking verb, it's called a predicate adjective, or an adjective that works in the predicate to help explain the subject.
