Compound Sentences

By this point, you have a pretty good understanding of simple sentences.  There are three other kinds of sentences in the English language, the compound sentence, the complex sentence, and the compound-complex sentence.  In the compound sentence, two simple sentences are linked together using a coordinating or adverbial conjunction.  They are diagrammed exactly like simple sentences, but you do two instead of one and link their verbs together with a dotted line.
