Adverb Clauses

Adverb clauses create the third type of sentence, the complex, where there is an independent clause joined together with a dependent clause.  That dependent clause is either an adverb or an adjective clause, depending on how the entire clause modifies the rest of the sentence.  Adverb clauses are often formed by subordinating conjunctions.  To diagram them, link their verbs together.
